Senior Tableau Developer
Location: Richmond, VA - 3X a week hybrid

Job Description:
The role is accountable for Tableau/Power BI reporting visualization and analysis, and may identify themes and trends at the function or product level.
Responsibilities:
- Gather requirements, design, develop, test, and deploy data sets and Tableau dashboards, SSRS Reports, and ad-hoc reporting.
- Leverage advanced Tableau/Power BI capabilities (parameters, actions, tooltips, modifications, API, etc.) to create analytical dashboards.
- Lead the development of Business Intelligence solution prototypes that demonstrate strong performance and usability to line of business stakeholders.
- Understand relational database structures and business objectives to extract data from various source databases, normalize data, and automate processes.
- Write dataset builds in SQL or Hive in preparation for Tableau/Power BI Dashboard extracts.
- Write calculations in SQL or Tableau based on advanced queries.
- Collaborate with business contacts to understand data needs.
- Schedule, host, and attend all required meetings punctually.
- Proactively identify and interpret results to communicate issues, risks, and blockers to assignments, and escalate areas of concern.
- Fully accountable for the integrity of the data produced for assigned projects.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Advanced experience with the design and development of reports in Tableau (8+ years) and Power BI (2+ years).
- Advanced experience with data modeling and relational databases.
- Advanced experience using tools such as SQL/SSIS/Hadoop/Oracle or Teradata.
- Advanced experience with SQL stored procedures.
- Experience working with incident management backend datasets (e.g., ITSM, Maximo, or ServiceNow).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, works independently and as part of a team, able to learn effectively and think critically to solve problems.
